Character Lesson Seven

CARING

Definition:

A caring person shows an interest or concern for others. Examples and/or Questions to Ask the Children:

1. How does your mother or father care for you?

2. How do your grandparents care for you?

3. How do you show care for others?

Verse:

"And coming to him, he bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine. And placing him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn and took care of him." Luke 10:34

Story: The story of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

Craft:

Make paper woven place mats:

1. Use 1 inch wide strips of paper.

2. Weave paper strips together.

3. Have children print at the top "... God cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7b."

4. Have children print at the bottom "... Have the same care for one another. 1 Corinthians 12:25b."

5. You may put clear contact paper on the mats to make them last longer.
